Zum Wahlfälschvideo

Ach, gar.

Ich hatte doch gerade auf ein Video verwiesen, auf dem einer beim Wahlzettelzählen mit dem Kugelschreiber drauf herumfuhrwerkt.

Die Washington Post erklärt dazu, das sei gar nicht wahr.

In actuality, Karpinski said, what the clip captured was the canvass worker darkening an oval that had been filled in too lightly, to ensure that it would be picked up by the ballot scanners. Karpinski said that protocol has been in place for election workers since he started working for the elections board in 2003 and is designed to ensure that as many eligible ballots as possible are counted.

Canvass workers are told to ask a colleague or supervisor when they’re unsure whether an oval needs to be darkened but not if they think it’s clear that needs to be done, Karpinski said.

Ach, gar.

Der Wahlzettel war nur nicht dunkel genug für die automatischen Lesegeräte ausgefüllt und der gute Mann hat einfach nur korrekt nachgedunkelt.

Das finde ich noch viel bedenklicher, als wenn das Video eine echte Fälschung gezeigt hätte.

Denn auch wenn das in diesem Fall keine Fälschung war, zeigt es doch, wie leicht das grundsätzlich fälschbar ist, nämlich weil da einer alleine am Tisch sitzt, den keiner kontrolliert, und der da immer dann, wenn etwas nicht dunkel genug angekreuzt ist, nach Gutdünken „nachdunkeln” kann. Sprich: Der braucht nur einen schwarzen Kugelschreiber und kann dann alle, die zu hell angekreuzt sind, zumindest prinzipiell umkreuzen.

Wenn ich das so sehe, komme ich zu der Auffassung, dass Trumps Ansicht von der Wahlfälschung bei Briefwahlen nicht von der Hand zu weisen ist.
